Our journey through infertility

*Went off Birth Control in November 2008 to begin "loosely" ttc.
*February 2009-began hardcore TTC using OPKs and fertility vitamins.
*March 2009- hit a roadblock and stopped using OPKs due to getting my hopes up too often.
*April 2009- stopped having my period, leading me on a roller coaster of emotions and hopes. Tested on again, off again with all BFNs until May 2008. Started noticing increased weight gain, stretch marks on stomach.
*May 2009- had my yearly checkup at the ob/gyn. First time at this Women's Clinic. Told the ob/gyn my concerns about possibly having PCOS. Ob/gyn told me I had nothing to worry about and to wait for my period to come. Due to the number I saw on the scale, the heaviest I've ever been, I decided to go on a diet and lose 50 pounds.
*July 2009-Decided to go for a second opinion at another clinic after still no period. Diagnosed with PCOS on July20. Began Metformin 500 mg that day. Will eventually work up to 2000 mg Metformin in four weeks.
July 27: I have lost TEN POUNDS!
*September 21- Started Provera to kick start my period. Will start Clomid, 50 mg, on the fifth day of my cycle.

Ugh...

Just when I thought I would be ready for the increase in my Metformin dosage...the side effects decide to come back with a vengeance.

I WILL go on to 2000 mg. I WILL. The sooner I get used to the highest dosage, the better.

This could be a rough week.

I'm so sorry, I hope it gets easier for you. Metformin can be aweful sometimes.

oh dear! i love you and i'm praying for you. and can i just say, i love this blog! reading it has been so encouraging to me! and it helps me know how you are almost every day, which i love! :) and CONGRATULATIONS on your already significant weight loss!!! what a huge difference one week can make! (speaking of me being gone!) i am so very proud of you and all the healthy decisions you are making-- i cannot wait to see what God is going to do through you and wesley!!
